Abhishek Bachchan on Raavan
“It’s neither Mahabharata nor Ramayana, you’re going to get treated to a dose of Raavayana in Raavan,” quips Abhishek Bachchan, when we touch base with him through a video conference at Reliance Webworld in Sector 9. The release of Mani Ratnam’s Raavan is just a week away and the actor is expectedly excited about the project, and more so about his director. “If it’s a Mani Ratnam film, it’s going to be a journey to remember. Anyone would be a fool to say no to him. He holds a very special place for me, he is family. All he has to do is order and I’ll do it, no questions asked,” he says.
The film, he says, has been one of the toughest in his 40-film-career. “Beera’s character is eccentric but multi-dimensional. It has so many facets that it’s difficult to pin-point any one characteristic. When you leave the theatre the perception you have built about him will undergo changes,” he says.
